All teams welcome. There will be no cap on teams, but we will close registration on the 30th June. Registration fee will be £25 per team.
This year, the London Open will be the final tournament of the summer, where scores can be settled and grudges forgotten whilst partying and reminiscing in our beautiful city. Looking to the future, we would like the London Open to become an annual tournament that evolves year-on-year to attract the best teams from around the globe.
Format will be the ‘Circle’ format, with teams playing at least 4 games in the first stage followed by the top 16 teams progressing through to a single elimination Finals stage.
Friday 20th August – Meet & greet. BBQ and Throw-ins at Downham during the day. Guided tour of ‘alternative’ London at night.
Saturday 21st August – Tournament starts at 9am. Finishes at 9pm. Prizes. Big polo party starts at 10pm.
Sunday 22nd August – Hangover coffees. Experimental polo at Newington (with prizes), BBQ in the afternoon.
(Note. With enough registered teams we will be moving to a 2-day tournament, with no experimental polo.)
All players needing accomodation will be housed by the London community. Please let us know on the registration form if you need housing and if you have any preference on where you stay.
Opens Sunday 30th May 10am at www.lhbpa.org/londonopen

An awesome weekend looms and I'd like to let everyone know that if you're thinking of registering a last minute team, then you need to let myself (jon[at]lhbpa[dot]org) know by midnight tomorrow evening.
This allows us enough time to draw up the schedules and although we'd hate to turn any last minute travelers away we need to have some sort of firm deadline... tomorrow at midnight it is.
If you know of any players that are thinking of attending but don't have a team registered, then please give them a friendly nudge that they need to send on an email with their intention.
Thanks, I hope most of you are successfully recovering from Berlin, polo rocks.

Way to go Seattle, Chicago and Frankfurt! Sounds like there was lots of GOOD GAME all around.
Ha, the Washington Post puts out a free paper of mostly AP articles called the Express distributed at Metro stop locations, and there was a picture of the London Open on page 2. Not that the Wash. Post hasn't covered DC polo, but funny to see polo from London in a local paper.
Shots of the weekend will be added to the London Open 2010 Flickr pool very soon, feel free to add your own:
