Hey polonauts. Just moved from nz to Gladstone, anyone keen on setting something up in the central Queensland area?
Brisbane would be keen on helping out. We have sent out mallets to Gatton and will be doing a demo day soon. There a a few cycle groups active in Central QLD who could be interested. It might be worthwhile contacting the local uni's such as Central QLD university too. There are already a few Bundaberg polo shirts getting around.
People in Bris were keen on doing a road/rail trip somewhere for camping and a tournament.
wicked! Good to know there's some stirring of polo around. Been getting a lil down fri nights when I know all my mates are at home having a good smash. I've asked around the local bike shops here and all I got was banjo music. Is there anyone in particular I could get hold of in Bundaberg, Gladstone or Rockhampton?
This thread http://leagueofbikepolo.com/forum/organizing-polo/2011/11/08/advice-for-...
and this http://www.lfgss.com/thread52096.html both have some good ideas.
My suggestion would be the local cycling groups (quick google finds a couple).
As horrible as it is to say, my family come from central QLD, and I definitely don't think it will be easy to get polo going. There just isn't a massive cycling culture. Either way, I wish you the best. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help, my email is email@example.com
